Meet our chef/owner – Shabo Emara
Bio: Born and raised in Qualyubia near Cairo, Egypt helping his family to take care of their farm. Inspired by Father-chef successfully graduated Cairo Hilton Culinary School where he mastered Garde Manger Course, Butcher Course, Saucier Kitchen, Soups and Rague kitchen, Banquets, Pastry courses. After 2 years working as first cook in Hilton Nile (Cairo, Egypt), got the position of Chef de Partie at Marriott Resort (Cairo, Egypt). During 5 years chef Shabo was successfully managing kitchen staff, developing menus, serving VIP guests and groups of the resort.

Worked at kosher restaurant “Urban Cafe” (Hollywood, FL) as executive chef
in April 2013 chef Shabo took over “Exotic Bites” restaurant (Hollywood, FL). After 6 month he made a total re-branding and changed the concept of a restaurant. Inspired by flavorful home-food he was raised on, he combined the most authentic recipes of his mother with a classic Moroccan, Egyptian, Lebanese recipes. As a real middle-eastern he couldn’t skip on classic grilled food – KEBABS in his menu, as this is what Mediterranean Barbecue is. At the same time all his life he was obsessed with classic American country kitchen that he mastered while working at “Roy’s Country Kitchen” – one of the restaurants in Cairo Marriott. That’s how “Shabo’s Barbecue” concept appeared – Fusion American & Mediterranean Barbecue. Only here You can enjoy authentic flavors of Middle-Eastern home food and perfectly seasoned American Country Barbecue.
In October 2019 chef Shabo moved his restaurant to a new location making his dream about high-end restaurant to come true!
